No Tears on the Field Documentary

TCRT has partnered with "No Tears on the Field" to help them create their documentary set was released ahead of the Women's Rugby World Cup 2025.

The documentary, No Tears on the Field, starred local community players and Black Ferns Legends and was produced by Taranaki’s Lisa Burd. The film received widespread national media attention and premiered in the National Doc Edge film festival where it has been the only film picked up for general distribution in Australia and NZ by a major distributor Madman Entertainment.

The documentary aims to preserve Taranaki’s rich rugby history and highlight the distinctive rural character of club rugby in the province. It is a quintessentially Kiwi film—humorous, inspiring, and reflective of local culture.

A leading distributor is already onboard for its cinematic debut, with subsequent streaming availability and participation in international film festivals worldwide. The film will be marketed both within New Zealand and internationally.
